We are starting a project in Mexicans in Poland, this project is to do some interviews to some Mexicans that are living in Poland.
The first person interviewed is Isabel Balderas, a Mexican that has been living in Poland for more than 8 years. Read to know a little bit about her life in Poland, and her principles motives to move to this country.

What is your name? where were you born? Where do you live in Poland? How long have you been living in Poland?
Isabel Balderas, I was born in Veracruz but I am 100% from Puebla. I have been living in Warsaw since 8 years ago.
Why did you decide to move to Poland?
My husband is form Poland, we met in Scotland but we decided to live in Poland.
What are you doing in Poland? Are you working or studying? Do you have a business in Poland?
I studied my Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Gastronomic Enterprises. I am the executive Chef in “Dos Tacos”, a Mexican restaurant in Warsaw. I am in charge of courses of Mexican cuisine in the “Institut Sztuki Kulinarne” and “Cook up” in Warsaw, “Cook up” in Poznan and “Look&Cook” in Zielona Góra. I cook in the system “Chef at home”, and I also like to organise and collaborate in some cultural events by promoting the Mexican culture and gastronomy.
What do you like the most about living in Poland?
I have been having a great experience in Poland, people is always really friendly and they are really interested to know about Mexico. I like the cities and traditions, the gastronomy, I like the winter sports, wildlife, travel to towns and see storks, pheasants, deer and wild boars.

What do not you like about living in Poland?
That it is really far away from Mexico and that the sun season is really short.
Is it easy the adaptation process to live in Poland?
At the beginning is not easy, but I think something that is really helpful is to be involved in different activities like studying, working, looking for social groups, and in my case it helped me a lot to learn Polish language, all of those definitely help you to adapt faster and your life in Poland will be much easier.
Are you planning to live in Poland forever?
Yes, I like it a lot and my family is growing in Poland.
Can you recommend moving to Poland to more Mexicans?
Of course, it is a really beautiful country and it is developing really fast with a lot of opportunities for foreigners and with really friendly people.
What do you miss from Mexico?
My family of course, the sun… tons of sunlight, seafood, Mexican food 24hours a day, variety of fruits, music, colors, the heat on the beaches and a lot of much more things.
